Steindor Jonsson is a writer, journalist and comedian, born in Reykjavík, based in Berlin.

Steindor is a screenwriter, whose feature-length black comedy Andalusia is currently in development at Still Vivid with funding by the Icelandic Film Fund. He produced content for the 2023 European Film Awards and holds an MA in screenwriting from MetFilm School Berlin.

Steindor has worked as a journalist, primarily for the Icelandic newspaper Stundin (now Heimildin), as well as doing freelance writing for several English-language and Icelandic outlets. He received the 2018 Icelandic journalism award for investigative journalism and the 2019 award for coverage. He previously worked for the Icelandic Ministry of Finance.

Steindor hosts the music radio show Main Floor on Refuge Worldwide and DJs regularly at Reykjavík and Berlin venues. He also hosts Bíó Tvíó, the podcast about Icelandic films, with Andrea Björk Andrésdóttir on Heimildin.

Steindor is a seasoned comedy improviser and teacher, starting out with Improv Iceland and then performing with several groups at Comedy Café Berlin and internationally. He’s written, performed and taught sketch comedy and created Cloud of Ash, an English-language comedy webseries set in Reykjavík.
